I actually created this a while ago (when that headline was current) because of talk on the Inkscape list of a website redesign contest. Well now the contest is official. This design was just a quickie, with not much original content (the icons were not made by me - they are from a file included with the program). I'm not even sure if the css to make the menu look like that is possible/realistic. The 'download' link represents the :hover status.

I'll focus on a new design if I get time. I'm busy these days though...

A clean, simple design. I like it. And I don't see any reason why those menus couldn't be implemented as they're shown.

just two notes :
Maybe the top banner needs to be enclosed with a "grey box" as the menu and <h3>s, and the submit for the search centered ?
